Checked suddenly during a real space battle, accidentally cause the explosion of a spacecraft with the subsequent death of the pilot and is saved from the center of the battle and brought aboard the living starship Moya leviathan, place mutiny by prisoners who trasortava to a penal colony.
Prisoners are escaping from the peacemakers, xenophobic race that has taken control much of that galaxy.
Commander Crichton will join it to their flight, the pilot saw that he accidentally killed the brother of the officer in charge of recovering fugitives who decides to embark on a personal crusade against Moya and its occupants.
I just discovered this series and so far I've only seen a few episodes but I find it absolutely amazing.
First, unlike series like StarTrek or Stargate (who still follow and admire a lot) we are faced with real aliens. Monstrous, strange and disturbing some of the characters that appear in the episodes seem to come straight from the classic science fiction fantasies. But there are also strange creatures, and some fascinating human being so similar as to constitute almost a transposition of some of his behaviors.
Apprezzabilissimo the use of puppets and spectacular scenery that supportanu ona very smooth narration.
Among the issues addressed are those related to, and the fear of the other, how could they miss having regard to the commitment that the authors have put forward in a world so different?
and then we find small glimpses of riflessine:
say at one point two of the players because it is so, much of what we are is given to us by others some ways of thinking, certain habits, principles. But it is also remembered
:
Other important theme, the one that moves away and the whole affair is the love of freedom:
What's really interesting, which may be a little thing but that I, in my little world a little 'nerd, I really appreciated:
The reason is that from the fact that everyone will understand. All are implanted from birth (John when he arrives on Moya) taduttori colony-forming microbes at the base of the brain and allow species to communicate.
Finally we are not in worlds where everyone speaks English! (NOT a reference to Stargate is purely coincidental)
So, hoping that the series continues with the standard with which game, I recommend to anyone, amateur or otherwise, of guardarsela and leave you with a final extract of the first episode:
"And here's the daddy life, strange, surprising, sometimes psychotic.
And there Death in technicolor. "
