What we are about to read from the book are the exploits of two knights of the temple of Jerusalem: Frère Arnault de Saint-Clair and Brother Torquil Lennox in their search for a new home to the Temple on behalf of a small circle edoterica the Temple. The strongholds of the Templars Outremer collapsed and are in fact the few that remain are falling gradually. Divine order for the survival and independence of Scotland are inextricably linked and thus Cavaglieri through the stories of the struggles between England and Scotland taking place between 1290 and 1300 met characters like William Wallace, King Edward, Robert Bruce and many others.
The author demonstrates a superb narrative skills that blend perfectly with the historical background of Romance fiction telling her a story, if true, likely this difficult period in Scotland.
Characters risultamo very nice feature, both the protagonists and antagonists that the assistants, with a background that justifies their actions and their thoughts.
Some events and the very nature of some characters seem to flow into the fantasy genre, though, in my opinion, having regard to the explanations that justify their existence and their mystical traditions refer to / from various religious contexts, they would classify as paranormal which purely fantastic.
(Those who have read other books the author will find it very pleasing that some names are references to his other novels)
The time between the various events of the narrative varies from a few days in some years, but the jumps are between treated very well without losing the reader turn of events.
Overall, the reading was very pleasant, although some points seem to flow too slowly for my tastes, but in my opinion, not a punitive element then. . .
. . . Recommended reading for all lovers of historical romance and paranormal
